The course is 4 miles long on a combination of quite rural roads and riverside footpaths. From the start you meander down delightful country lanes to the edge of picturesque Alresford Creek, from where you follow the seawall onto the lower reaches of the River Colne with its beautiful views across the water and marshes to Fingringhoe and Mersea Island. The finish will be located at the Millennium Gardens on Promenade Way, close to Brightlingsea’s famous landmark Bateman’s Tower, where there will be family fun for all.
The event is open to individuals, teams and families. Registration can be completed online in advance (entry will open in June) or on the day at All Saints’ Church from 10.00am to 10:45am.
The start will be at 11.00am on Moverons’ Lane outside All Saints’ Church.
All funds raised by the event will go to support the vital work of Essex Air Ambulance and competitors are encouraged to also support this vital service through individual sponsorship. There are lots of way to get involved, either as a participant, as a Volunteer helping on the day, or by coming to the Finish to welcome everyone home and join in the fun at the Millennium Gardens.
