The Course

The start will be located on Moverons Lane just outside All Saints’ Church, where registration will take place from 10.00.

The course will then take you down Moverons Lane and through the gravel works before branching right down to Alresford Creek.  Once you arrive at the creek you turn left along the seawall and follow the seawall path out of Alresford Creek and along the bank of the River Colne all the way back to the finish line at the Millennium Gardens on Promenade Way, very close to Brightlingsea’s famous landmark Bateman’s Tower.

Marshalls will be located at regular points along the route to guide you and provide assistance if required.

Please note that this route is on unmade roads and footpaths.  Walking is easy and mainly downhill or flat, however the ground can be uneven and in event of rain muddy, so participants are requested to wear suitable footwear and clothing.

Horses and bicycles are not permitted on the route and it is unsuitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, although sturdy buggies/pushchairs are fine.  Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times as there are livestock in the fields alongside the route.  The gate from the lane onto the seawall at Alresford Creek will be opened briefly to allow participants through.

The event will start at 11.00am and the finish line will be open until 1.00pm.
