New Race Finish Area Confirmed

For 2017 the finish line and post race finish area are being moved a short distance to Brightlingsea’s delightful Millennium Gardens on Promenade Way.  Whilst this does add just a few hundred yards to the length of the course, it has the considerable benefit of enabling us to set up a more competitor friendly finish system and a much more attractive and sheltered post race assembly area.

It will also allow us to welcome additional stands to the race area and anyone interested in taking a stall at this year’s event should contact Terri Gould on

“We were delighted by the success of our first Jog Walk Run event in 2016 and are expecting and increased entry this year.  To accommodate the larger numbers and provide a more comfortable and welcoming area for friends and family to gather to cheer home the participants we are delighted that Brightlingsea Town Council has granted us permission to use the Millennium Garden.” noted event Chairman Ray Stollery.

Once again the race will start at the top of Moverons Lane just outside All Saints’ Churchyard and we are most grateful to the PCC for granting us permission to use All Saints’ Church for the pre-race registration again this year.  From there the course will follow the traditional route down Moverons Lane, onto the seawall to Brightlingsea, past Bateman’s tower and this year we will continue along the top of the wall before finishing and dropping down into the Millennium Gardens.

Online entry for the race will open shortly and further information about the new race finish arrangements will follow in due course.
